What will the WWW/Manager do?
EMAILING and CUSTOMER CARE
Important bit. We do a lot of this and we need someone who will oversee it, do most of it for wheels - but fear not! The wheelbuilding wizards will probably dictate most of it initially and aaalways help with the technical stuff. Customer care is super important to us, we try to give every customer our full attention and because we build every wheel set to order (and to suit each customers' needs!) we have to ask questions, make sure we have all the info we need and make sure the customer understands all the options etc. It's quite an enjoyable bit of the job to be honest, I've always enjoyed it myself because it's super positive- good and thorough communication means that customers are happy and trust you (which they should! as we really do always try our very best for them :)) and so it's pretty rewarding.
STOCK keeping & orderingWe have pretty cool spreadsheets (as we have an in-house spreadsheet addict, Aoife) , so this is nowhere near as scary as it sounds. As we build to order and have quite a lot of options it is something that requires quite a bit of attention.
BITS and BOBSThis will probably consist of : organising collections and deliveries for around the globe! :D ; maybe boxing up wheel sets now and then ; you'll probably end up learning how to lace wheels and do the decalling.. maybe more! But the idea is that we specifically need someone for the admin/organising/customer care side.
Spreadable like butterbut about 4 days all together eventually. We can build up to this, or jump right in :) But by the end of this Summer '21 4ish days a week would be ace. It doesn't all have to be from Stayer HQ either, it can be from home part of the time. The main thing is that it's spread across the week a bit as we TRY to reply to emails within a working day, and keeping an eye on this would be your main responsibility.
Things you don't need- specific experience with any of the above or wheel building / bike mechanics etc.- skills in maths, spelling or punctuation. Trying a little is all that matters :)
Things you maybe do need- interest in bikes/cycling would be cool :) You will be learning all about wheels in the process of the job, but an initial understanding of the basics (what are nipples?!) would be great.- a fondness for dogs, or just for the one and only Nosebeast will probably do as she's in and out of the workshop every so often.
Why the slash ? ( /Manager) So far we've hired amazing people and their roles have taken shape around them - Holly's head of the Bang, bending and sanding, frame organisation, being everywhere at once... among many other things. We didn't know what she'd be doing but we probably thought it would be one thing rather than everything ;) This time however, we need to fill a gap for all of the above but there's still a bit of wiggle room ; if we find someone who'd like to take charge of the wheel workshop a bit and tell the builders what to prioritise etc - grrreat - if not, or something in between, great too!
Have a look here at the Stayer Team that you could be joining :)And we've currently got one more wheel builder and one more frame builder in training as well.
That's sort of it!
