2023 brings change to the Stayer offering and ordering process.
We are super excited to say that from the middle of next month standard sizes of all of our frame models will be available to purchase via the website.
Manufactured in small batches the production of standard size frames will happen at different times for different models throughout the year. We will give a bit of warning when pre-orders will open for each model and then if there are any left over they will become available as in stock on the website.
These changes will also coincide with a bit of a website revamp and product reshuffle. From then also all new custom frame orders, including custom sizes, will move to a waiting list order system on a first come basis.
And so!
We begin with our new and improved Stayer Crit frame. This full Columbus build will be available to order as a frame set or full bike in a range of standard sizes – geo’s to be released in a few weeks time.
Keep an eye on our social or sign up to the newsletter for updates. Everything will be up and running in just over a month with a super cool merch package for pre-order trailblazers.
Custom work has been our bread and butter for years and it has given us a wealth of knowledge on components and materials; we know what works, we know how to listen and help you make your ideas a reality.

Our custom frame-only prices start at £2000.
Our custom carbon wheel sets start at £1100.
Our custom alloy wheel sets start at £450.
We build with a huge array of hub and rim brands for different budgets, needs and aesthetics.

Stayer Frames and Forks come with a 6 year limited warranty.
This covers any material or manufacturing defect becoming apparent during normal riding.
Components supplied with the frameset carry their own manufacturer’s warranty (e.g. 5 years for a Whisky Parts Co. carbon fork).
Stayer Wheels have a lifetime build warranty
– if your wheel comes out of true or there is any other build issue we fix this free of charge.
This part of the warranty is non-transferrable, only valid for the original purchaser of the wheels.
Stayer Wheel components come with a minimum 2 year limited warranty which covers any material or manufacturing defect becoming apparent during normal riding. With some components the warranty is longer (e.g. SON hubs, 5 years).
The warranty does not cover ‘consumables’ such as inner tubes, tyres, brake pads, tyre sealant and bearings.
We do not charge for any of the labour or materials required to fix a warranty claim but the customer must pay for the return of the product to our workshop. Once the problem is fixed we will send the item back to the customer free of charge.
Crash replacements for rims and hubs are charged at 15% off component RRP, labour included. New spokes needed for a rim/hub replacement will also be charged at 15% off.
Any spokes that need replacing from crash or damage (where the rim and hub do not need replacing) will also be charged at a 15% off and there will be a flat rate truing of charge of £25/wheel for up to 3 spokes and £45/wheel for anything over 3.
Any truing required not from crash or damage is free of charge.
Please be aware that carbon rim brake clinchers need to be handled with care when doing any climbing (well, descending really). If you are doing any longer descents please use your brakes sparingly and periodically. Our rims have a high temperature resistant brake track but nevertheless when you are using your brakes consistently on a long descent this can cause heat buildup of the braking surface and potentially the ‘cooking’ of your rims. The risk of this happening is higher the heavier you are and the higher your tyre pressure so if you do use these wheels for any climbing please be sparing with your braking, only braking periodically and where needed and run your tyres at a lower pressure (of around 80-95psi vs 100-120psi), and this will also give you better handling over your bike and make life a little more comfortable!
If it’s climbing that you want to a lot of and are interested in a climbing specific rim brake clincher wheel set we can work out an appropriate custom build for you. There are currently only two brands that manufacture climbing specific carbon rim brake clinchers – Alto and ENVE – we love building with these rims and there are more alloy options as well, so just get in touch.
If you do ‘cook’ a rim we offer a 40% off replacement warranty.
Only use carbon-specific brake pads and only use those brake pads on carbon rims.
We aim to reply within a working day.
